With the fiscal year soon coming to a close, the Laguna Madre Water District (LMWD) Board of Directors made plans to hold a budget workshop soon. The Board also approved a change to the time it holds regular meetings.
The board’s regular meetings normally begin at 6 p.m., but after some discussion, the Board approved moving the meeting time up by an hour, beginning at 5 p.m.
The budget committee has already met several times to assess the current financial needs within the District, however, both the board and staff brought up some issues they encountered while working on the preliminary budget.
“There were some difficulties with this budget here,” said budget committee member and Board Chairman Jeff Keplinger.
“It was really rough when it came to the budget committee, rougher than it should have been,” said director Doyle Wells.
