Early Monday morning, August 2, the football players were assigned their lockers, uniforms and equipment for the upcoming football season.

Once settled the players made their way onto the practice field for the start of the 8 a.m. football practice. After conditioning and working on football fundamentals the practice ends around 10:30 a.m. The day doesn’t end there, as the players make their way to the weight room to lift weights.  Rinse and repeat for the next couple of days.

This Saturday, August 7, marks the first day of full contact as mandated by the UIL. That same day the Tarpons are having a “Tarpon Media Day,” where team photos will be taken. Parents are welcomed to attend an informative parent meeting for the upcoming season. The team then plays an intrasquad scrimmage.

The event will take place at Tarpon Stadium, on the Visitor’s bleachers, at 8 a.m. The Tarpons will have a home scrimmage with Brownsville Pace on Thursday, August 12.
