Tarpons awarded All-District Honors

The 2022 Port Isabel Tarpons football team had a good season as they finished the year with a 9-3 record, including one playoff win. For their efforts on the field, the following Port Isabel football players earned 16-4A (Div. 2) All-District honors.
Earning Co-Offensive MVP honors was quarterback, Rudy Barrera (Sr). Tristian Garcia (Jr) was selected Defensive MVP, and Newcomer of the Year went to speedy freshman running back, Luis Ramos, who was a unanimous selection.
Earning First Team All-District were running back, Hector “Cross” Martinez (Sr); running back, Evan Galvan (Jr); outside linebacker, Jose “JoJo” Ochoa (Jr); cornerback, Andrew LeBlanc (Jr); tight end, Kaleb Clinton (Sr); offensive guard, Steven Martinez (So.- *Unanimous); center, Christopher Finona (Sr); offensive tackle, Nathan Martinez (Sr- *Unanimous); defensive tackle, Jayden Gonzalez (Sr); defensive end, Christopher Gonzalez (So); linebacker, Edward Garza (Fr- *Unanimous).
Earning Second Team All-District were safety, E. Galvan, running back, J. Ochoa, running back, A. LeBlanc; receiver, Abraham Sandoval (Jr); kicker, Joaquin Leon (So).
