El Paseo Arts announces for two October productions: The Savannah Sipping Society by Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope and Jamie Wooten, and Rough Crossing by Tom Stoppard. The auditions will be held at the SPI Community Center on Saturday, Aug. 19, 2023, at 11 a.m., and Sunday, Aug. 20, 2023, at 2 p.m.
Savannah Sipping Society is a comedy with performance dates of Wednesday and Thursday, Oct. 4 and 5. The cast requires four women, ages 30-60. Randa Covington is an attorney who has been totally devoted to her career. She is devastated because she was fired and is now faced with finding a new job. Marlafaye Mosley is originally from Texas. She has come to Savannah to get over her husband’s cheating on her and now his marriage to a 23-year-old dental hygienist. Dot Jenkins and her husband retired to Savannah to enjoy a wonderful new life, but he passed away before they could really get started, and now she is left to pick up the pieces. Jinx Jenkin is a salesgirl who does make-overs and a self-professed life-coach. She promises to help the group get their lives back on track.
