With the start of school just around the corner, Cameron County Precinct One is bringing back its annual water fight this weekend in Port Isabel, which, according to them, will be “the coolest event of the summer.”
Water Wars Three will take place this Saturday, Aug. 12, 2023, from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. at the Laguna Madre Park, located at 190 Port Road, Port Isabel, Texas.
“Come out and have a great time right before you go back to school. Make plans to be there, you don’t want to miss it,” stated the Precinct.
This event pits local youth against cops in a fun-for-all water gun and water balloon fight. The first 100 kids to show up will get a free water gun. Participants also have a chance to have some fun at the “Dunk a Deputy” boot and the slip & slide. Food and drinks will also be available.
According to Precinct One, Brownsville Police Officers will be giving out raspas to attendees.
Cameron County Constable Precinct One Norman Esquivel thanked PIPD Chief Robert Lopez for sponsorship in the event.
“We appreciate your support,” stated Esquivel.
As well, the Esquivel expressed gratitude towards Chief Felix Sauceda of the Brownsville Police Department “for always supporting our Water Wars event and agency.”
The Town of Laguna Vista has also supported the cause by becoming a sponsor of Water Wars.
“Thank you, City Manager Rendi Gonzales, and everyone from the Town of Laguna Vista for reaching out to us and sponsoring this event. Because of you all, this event is going to be great. We appreciate you all so much. We love you Laguna Vista,” stated Esquivel.
Mike Hernandez, Founder of OP 10.33 and George Eduardo Gavito, CEO of OP.33 generously donated a load of water guns and water balloons to fuel the fun at Water Wars Three.
