Port Isabel Rotary Club welcomed a visiting Rotarian from Strabane Lifford, Ireland, this week.
Mr. John Bryne is visiting the Valley from Ireland this week and attended the weekly meeting at noon on Sept. 29, 2023.

Bryne brought his club flag to exchange.  One of Rotary’s most colorful traditions is the members’ exchanging club flags.  Clubs display their own decorative flags at meetings and district events, and Rotarians who travel to other cities, states and countries often take these flags to exchange with clubs they visit.  The flags often include symbols or images of a club’s town, region or country.

Weekly speakers were sponsored by member Shannon Cook.   Allan and Terri Thompson spoke to the club members about RENEW, a multi-service thrift store that opened in December 2022 in Port Isabel.   The store is here to support local citizens in any way possible.   Located in Shell Harbor Center, the store is staffed completely by volunteers.
