SPI Rocks, a local community group, is bringing a creative twist to the holiday season by painting rocks for Christmas. Embracing the festive spirit, members gathered this past Monday at Turtle Park to paint rocks and share their artistic skills with others in the community.
The rocks crafted during these painting sessions hold a special purpose – they contribute to the Sandra Tarpey Memorial Rock Garden. This unique garden, a labor of love and creativity, has become a place where park visitors can enjoy the vibrantly painted rocks in the garden that commemorate her memory.
Residents and visitors alike are encouraged to participate in this heartwarming initiative. The idea is simple: take a rock for motivation and leave a rock for inspiration. The exchange of painted rocks adds a touch of holiday joy and fosters a sense of community connection on South Padre Island.
