The Valley Voices Chorale will bring the sounds of the 1950s and 1960s to the stage with two upcoming spring concerts featuring favorites made famous by the Everly Brothers, Neil Diamond, Elvis Presley and more.
Formed in 2011 and based in Port Isabel, the chorale is made up of local musicians and Winter Texans who share a passion for choral music. For the past six years, the group has been under the direction of Dale Ziegler, choir director at Fishers of Men Lutheran Church and St. Andrew’s by the Sea in Port Isabel. Accompanist Brett Marshall, a well-known pianist who performs throughout the Rio Grande Valley, will join the ensemble for both performances.
Concertgoers are invited to sing along and relive the golden era of rock and pop on Sunday, Feb. 22 at 2:30 p.m. at Long Island Village in Port Isabel and Friday, Feb. 27 at 2:30 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Harlingen.
General admission tickets are $15 or two for $25. Tickets are available at ReNew Thrift Store and Long Island Village in Port Isabel, S.O.S. Services on South Padre Island and St. Paul Lutheran Church in Harlingen.
