A time of remembrance and honor was observed for local veterans past and present at the Port Isabel Cemetery. The flag waved from poles throughout the city, so people can remember the sacrifice. A 21-gun salute and role call brought the names and memories afresh to the citizens who attended. Mayors Joe Vela and Susie Houston were present. (Staff photos by Scarlet O'Rourke)
