Greater medical attention in the time of emergencies is now being provided in the Town of Laguna Vista, thanks to the hard work and dedication of the Fire and Police departments in this community.
Seven police and fire department officers have been awarded First Responder status following certification on the state level, according to Laguna Vista City Manager Rolando Vela.
The Laguna Vista Volunteer Fire Department is now a state-certified first responder program, he said.
“Since police officers are often times the first ones to arrive at an emergency scene, they will be able to stabilize a victim while paramedics are on the way,” Vela added.
