This alligator gar, measuring seven feet, seven inches, was caught by Leo Ruiz while fishing at a resaca located near Bayview. Ruiz hooked the gar and harpooned it in the head. It took about an hour and a half as well as three men to pull it from the river. (Courtesy photos)
