Laguna Vista trashes garbage

Junk vehicles, unsanitary yards and unsightly rubbish are on a hit-list in Laguna Vista.

Town councilmembers recently approved two ordinances that deal specifically with elimination or control of such undesirable features in the community. The updated ordinances provide more stringent measures for enforcement. “This gives us more teeth when it comes to enforcement,” City Manager Rolando Vela said.

Abandoned vehicles, trailers and junk vehicles are targeted in Ordinance No. 2011-23 which was unanimously supported by the Town Council. If found in violation of the ordinance, property owners will face a $100 to $500 fine for each day of the offense.
