Judge Carlos Cascos and Brownsville City Commissioner Sophi Benavidez announced on Sunday that, beach accesses 5, 6 and Boca Chica Beach would be closed to visitors.
The reason being a surge of high tides, rip currents, and dangerous driving conditions.
Judge Cascos has enlisted the aid of law enforcement to help keep people off the beach and out of harm’s way.
Officials ask that people remain cautious and vigilant as they visit the shore and swim in the ocean at other access points.
As of Monday, presstime, the three beach accesses remain closed to the public.
