TarponsHead Coach Monty Stumbaugh and company will return to the football field in 2012 to a new-look 32-3A.

The Port Isabel Tarpons were one of many local schools to have been affected by this morning’s UIL realignment, which created two 3A districts in the Rio Grande Valley of five teams each.

Sticking with the Tarps are rivals the La Feria Lions and Rio Hondo Bobcats, allowing fans of the three competitive schools to breathe a collective sigh of relief. Leaving are the Zapata Hawks and Grulla Gators of Rio Grande City.
