Small cities in Cameron County, including those in the Laguna Madre area, will be represented by Ricardo Morado on the Cameron Appraisal District Board of Directors. A former mayor of San Benito, Morado currently serves as that city’s attorney of record. He replaces Janice Cassidy, who previously represented the Town of Laguna Vista and City of San Benito.

He joins other members including Chairperson Jose Noe Diaz, Sr.,Vice Chairperson Enrique Escobedo, Jr., SecretaryJesse Villarreal and members Carlos H. Cascos, Roberto Garcia, Vicente Mendez, Robert Pinkerton, Jr., Joey Trevino and Tony Yzaguirre Jr.

Duties of the board of directors include hiring the chief appraiser, establishing an operating budget for the district, naming the Appraisal Review Board and creating policy for the Appraisal District.
