South Padre Island met record numbers of Spring Breakers for Texas week, as local hotels and resorts report capacity percentages in the high 90’s, and say this is up from previous years.

Crystal Ramirez, Customer Service Representative for The Hilton Garden Inn reported, “For Texas Week we did well, the first few days we had between five to eight rooms available (out of 156 rooms), and starting March 17 through the weekend we were completely sold out.”

Marisa Castillo, Director of Sales and Marketing for Pearl South Padre, said, “Overall we did better than last year. Our variances for the weeks of March 9 to March 25 are about 9.5 percent increase. ” In addition, Castillo reported capacity percentages averaging 98 percent starting March 15 and into the weekend.
