Area residents as well as visitors don’t have an excuse to be bored this weekend as a number of landmark events are on tap.
The Queen Isabella Market Day is set for Saturday, April 14 between 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Lighthouse Square. The event features live entertainment an art exhibit, vendors, and food booths. Admission to the museums and lighthouse is $1 per person and there is no admission to market day itself. The event is sponsored by the Musuems of Port Isabel. Also of interest, on Thursday, April 19, the Port Isabel Chamber of Commerce will be hosting its spring mixer at Pirate’s Landing Restaurant. Complimentary hors d’oeuvres, live entertainment and a cash bar will be offered. The mixer is open to all Chamber members.
Members of the Magic Valley Riders Motorcycle Club Inc. will host the Ninth Annual Beach-N-Biker Fest beginning April 13-15 at the South Padre Island Convention Centre.
The festival is held as a charity event, where raised funds are donated to beneficiaries such as the Family Crisis Center of Harlingen, Maggie’s and Monica House, Teach the Children, Walk for Woman, and the Boys and Girls Club.
Included during the event will be a parade, poker run, biker games, a ride and bike show, food and clothing vendors, and tribute bands from Lynyrd Skynyrd, Pink Floyd, and Creedence Clearwater Revival, and other groups as well.
