Two Port Isabel High School DECA teams will advance to international competition in Salt Lake City, Utah.

The Hospitality and Tourism team, made of J.T. Monroe and Andy Barrera, and the Travel and Tourism team, made of James Taylor and Austin Lara, have been invited to International Career Development Conference. Each was awarded $250 scholarships at the school board meeting last Thursday.

Victor Barrera, DECA sponsor, said this was the first time he has had four students qualify for the competition. He said it is an honor for the community.
