POWC seeks to reign in Spring Break

Members of the South Padre Island group Property Owners Who Care (POWC) said they’ve had enough of what they call out of control spring breakers.

Several members of the POWC, a group seeking to protect the rights of Island property owners, railed against this year’s Spring Break during the group’s quarterly meeting held Saturday afternoon in the Palms Hotel. They said the crime during the season has become too much.

POWC President Shane Wilson said the property owners of the Island need to work aggressively to end the Island’s reputation as the “cantina of the Valley” by bringing families back to the Island.
