State, county primaries set for Tuesday

ElectionsVoters all across the county and state are preparing to cast their ballots in hotly-contested races on Tuesday, May 29.

Early voting tallies as of Thursday, May 24, have indicated that 14,403 ballots have been cast thus far, 12,013 of which were for the Democratic Primary and 2,390 for the Republican Primary.

One position up for election in the Democratic Party is the United States Representative District 34 spot, which Ramiro Garza Jr., Denise Saenz Blanchard, Salomon Torres, Filemon Vela, Elmo M. Aycock, Anthony P. Troiani, Juan Angel Guerra and Armando Villalobos are all vying for a shot at the new seat.
