Environmental Educator Kat Lillie from Sea Turtle Inc. presented “How to Care For Sea Turtles” at the Port Isabel Historic Museum Thursday.
Lillie said that STI currently has four species in their facility. She said Sea Turtle Inc. has zoological permits that allow them to care for turtles when they are no longer fit to be released into the wild.
STI treats turtles for all types of injuries, Lillie said, but there are five main reasons for a sea turtle to spend time at the rehabilitation center.
