4h of July events a plenty

Visitors and residents of the Greater Laguna Madre Area will have plenty on tap this July 4th as area municipalities, organizations and businesses have scheduled an array of events in honor of our nation’s independence.

The City of South Padre Island and the SPI Parks and Recreation Committee will present the annual Fourth of July Beach Parade at 10 a.m. The parade will be from Fantasy Circle Beach Access 22 to Starlight Circle Beach Access 17.

Residents and visitors are invited to attend the event, which is suitable for all ages. Attendees are encouraged to wear their patriotic clothing.

Activities at the end of the parade route include tug of war, SPI Kazoo Marching Band, Beach Toy Prize Contest and many more.
