LV2The majority of Laguna Vista elected officials Tuesday reaffirmed their appointment of a long-time, local law enforcer to continue serving in the capacity as municipal court judge.

“We think that he (Municipal Court Judge Roberto Rodriguez) is the best fit for Laguna Vista at this time,” said Mayor Susie Houston.

An agenda item to terminate Rodriguez as judge was defeated on a 4-3 split vote of the board. Voting for the termination were Councilmen Richard Hinojosa, Rita Garcia and Michael Carter. Voting against the termination were Councilmen Paul Villas, Steve Muschenheim, Lety Keplinger and Mayor Houston.
