The South Padre Island Birding and Nature Center will begin hosting its Winter Seminar Series this month.
Beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, the series kicks off with “Things you find on the beach: A New species for South Padre Island” to be presented by Zen Faulkes.
At 11 a.m. on Feb. 2, Tim Brush will present “Birding and bird study in the Yucatan;” Frank Dirrigl will present “Sustainable water use in a changing world” at 10 a.m. on Feb. 10; Tom Whelan will present “The unique chemistry of the Laguna Madre” at 10 a.m. on March 2; and “Seagrasses, Lifeblood of the Laguna Madre” will be presented by De Yoe at 10 a.m. on March 9.
Also, guided nature tours are held at 9:30 a.m. every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday.
