Manager Enrique Saldaña said SPI Mechanix is a comfortable place to have a vehicle worked on with a 50 inch television with satellite television, relaxing chairs, foosball table and a building is equipped with Wi-Fi.
“We keep our facilities clean and take pride in that,” Saldaña said.
Saldaña said common problems that SPI Mechanix have taken care of for residents of the Laguna Madre area are rusty suspensions, peeling or rusting paint and wheel alignment.
Estimates for work on a vehicle are given based on the Versus computer inspection system. Saldaña said the diagnostic comes complete with an itemized report detailing the work needed on the vehicle.
“We live in a small community, so word about our quality work gets around,” Saldaña said.
SPI Mechanix uses all state of the art equipment by Snap-On tools. Saldaña said the shop is able to work on any make or model of vehicle.
Regular vehicle maintenance such as state inspections is also available at SPI Mechanix. Saldaña said work done at the shop is recorded in their system and can be printed upon request.
SPI Mechanix also does vehicle full restoration. Saldaña said the shop is currently working on a VW Microbus and Ford Deluxe. He said the finish can be flat or shine like new depending on the customer.
SPI Mechanix is located at 724 S. Garcia Street in Port Isabel. Their hours of operation are 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and Saturday from 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m.
