Athletes encouraged to take part in physical program

Special to the PRESS

Port Isabel High School is hosting free pre-athletic physicals for all Junior High and High School student athletes. All students need to be enrolled in athletics and be enrolled at PIISD to participate. Physicals will be held at Port Isabel High School in the athletics wing from 8 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturday, May 11.

Physicals will be offered on a first come, first served basis. There will be no entry after 11:30 p.m. There may be a wait, so please be patient.

All incoming seventh, ninth, and 11th graders for 2013-2014 school year will need a physical. Others may need a physical, as well.

All athletic paperwork must be filled out completely by both students and parents prior to checking in. All parents should be present with their athlete.

All male and female athletes need to be in shorts, and all female athletes should wear a sports bra or form-fitting tank top.

A special thanks to Dr. Fred Munguia, MD; Dr. Gregory Smith Orthopedics and staff; Josh Camacho, RN; and the entire PIISD athletics staff for making this great event happen for our community.
