Multiple age groups involved in summer track competitions

Port Isabel High School assistant track and field coach Johvonne Howard reports that the summer track program is well underway with two meets scheduled for this weekend.
A number of age divisions are involved, with more than 30 athletes, and all of them participated in last week’s meet at PSJA.
Competing in the high school group is Kelcie Swink. At PSJA last Friday she took second in the shot put competition and third in the discus.
Daniella Murchison competed in the Intermediate Girls division and was first in both the shot put and discus. Last month in Austin, Murchison, as a sophomore, won the Class 3A state title in shot put.
