BEACH BAR BEAT: LYN

What is your name? Lyn

Where are you from? Los Fresnos

How long have you been bartending? Five years

Why do you like working at Lighthouse Pub? “I like the ambiance. It is really laid back and I like meeting people.”

What sports are you into? Football

What is your favorite team? The Dallas Cowboys

What are your favorite dishes at The Lighthouse Pub?

“There are so many. The Stromboli has to be my favorite. It has mozzarella cheese and Italian sausage, pepperoni, Canadian bacon, ham. It is nice and crispy. It is great bar food.”

What do you think sets the Lighthouse Pub apart from other bars in the area?

“I think it is the ambiance and more than anything the people that come in here. Everybody gets to talking to everybody. You can have a customer come in on one side of the bar and another customer on the other side, I introduce them to each other and maybe they grew up in the same town.”

What is your favorite drink to make?

“Liquid Marijuana — my version has been perfected and has Captain Morgan, melon liquor, amaretto, peach schnapps, a splash of pineapple juice, a splash of orange juice and Sprite.”

If you could make a drink for anyone, living or dead, celebrity or historical figure, who would it be and what would you make?

“It would be for my grandmother because she liked to drink and I never got the chance to sit down and chat with her. When you’re drinking you get a different persona and it would be great to sit down with her. I think I would make her a lunch box. A lunch box is best with Blue Moon, a shot of amaretto and orange juice.”
