As the Lenten season continues, a Communal Penance Service is scheduled for 7 p.m., Wednesday, March 26 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church. There will be several priests available to hear individual confessions. All Catholics are invited. The church is located at 705 S. Longoria.
Also as a Lenten observance, Stations of the Cross are recited each Friday during Lent at 6 p.m. in a bilingual format, at the church.
The community is invited join Our Lady Star of the Sea’s Pro-Life team in observing the 40 Days for Life program through April 13 to pray for the unborn. The team will meet after the 7 a.m. Mass to pray the Rosary at the Chapel.
The Knights of Columbus will hold a Fish Fry on Friday, March 21 at the Parish Hall. Tickets will be available following Mass and at the door. This Fish Fry will be eat-in or take-out. Iced tea will be provided for those eating in. Cost is $5 per plate. Plates will be available from 5 to 7 p.m. Baked goods will be available at $1 per plate from the parish Bereavement Group.
The parish is also scheduling a Women’s ACTS Retreat is scheduled for April 3-6. For more information please contact the church office at (956) 943-1297.
A “Chalupa” fundraiser will be hosted by: OLSS/Liturgy Committee. Please join themon March 23 in the Parish Hall. Doors open at 2 p.m. A snack bar will be open, and games begin at 3 pm. Tickets are now on sale, or can be purchased at the door. The community is welcome to attend.
