PISBND discussed at Chamber meeting

PISBND logo (640 px)The monthly Port Isabel Chamber of Commerce All Chamber meeting commenced on the morning of Friday, Oct. 3, with the unveiling of a new logo and a new home on 302 E. Queen Isabella Blvd, Ste. C.

Guest speaker and Port Director Steve Bearden commented on the state of the Port Isabel-San Benito Navigation District, addressing the situations of several economic staples of the area and opportunities for industry growth.

He began by citing the employment significance of a vision that came in 2006 when commissioners decided to alter the harbor that was traditionally for cargo to an offshore oil and gas support port.
