As part of the Head Start Program, the roughly 150 children of the Esperanza B. Garza Center in Port Isabel got an educational treat this past Thursday when local law enforcement agents gave a presentation on the significance of knowing how to respond during an emergency and the dangers of drugs.

Reserve Deputy Don Duncan of the Precinct 1 Cameron County Constable’s Office spoke with the kids about making good decisions regarding several serious circumstances that they may face in the future – such as offers from strangers and remaining calm when calling police for help.
