The Port Isabel Lady Tarpons volleyball team was victorious in its first-round bi-district playoff match against Beeville on Tuesday night. The Lady Tarpons advance to the area round of the playoffs with a 25-14, 25-18, 25-9 straight sets win over the Trojans of Beeville’s Jones High School. The match was played at Monte Alto.
Port Isabel came in as the No.1 seed from District 32-4A after defeating district tri-champions Zapata and La Feria in a post-regular season seeding tournament last weekend. On Friday the Lady Tarpons got Zapata three sets to one by the scores of 25-13, 21-25, 25-19, 25-16. On Saturday morning they beat La Feria 25-23, 21-25, 25-18, 25-17. Beeville was the No. 4 seed out of District 31-4A.
