Special to the PRESS
LV Residents and Friends,
National Police Week is from May 11 to 15. It is a time to pay tribute to our fallen officers and to show appreciation to our current officers.
Officers put on their uniforms everyday not knowing if they will be returning home after their shifts. They respond to calls and are exposed to scenes of an accident that most of us would not have the intestinal fortitude to witness. They put their lives on the line, every single time they put on a badge; they do so because they care and they are honored to serve you. As a community, this is your time to express your appreciation to your Laguna Vista police officers.
In Laguna Vista, we are very proud and supportive of each one of our officers:
- Chief Tony David
- Sgt. Julio Olguin
- Senior Officer Frank Lerma
- Officer George Guerrero
- Officer Greg Cruz
- Officer Ricky Gonzalez
- Officer Steve Reyes
We kindly ask that you please remember them and think of them during National Police Week. You can also remember them with a card, a note, a candy bar, a gift card from Whataburger, etc. If there is any interest in bringing any food for our officers, please contact City Secretary Alma Deckard at 943-1793 to coordinate date and time.
Thank you for remembering your police officers.
