The Keep South Padre Island Beautiful (KSPIB) Committee welcomed two new members at their first meeting of the year. Chairwoman Susan Dalton recognized the two members who stepped down, Elaine Sanchez and Bill George, who played active roles in the committee during their service.

George was a constant at SPI Weekly Recycling and assisted at Adopt-A-Beach Cleanups for two years. Sanchez was a dedicated member of the Keep SPI Beautiful Committee for about six years, spearheading many projects and helping to organize volunteers.  Sanchez was thankful to serve with many residents that volunteered time to improve their community and said, “I believe I have made room for a new person with fresh ideas and goals.”

Since they have stepped down, the committee welcomed two new members, Julie Berman of Origins Recovery Center and Kat Lillie of Sea Turtle, Inc., both bringing valuable assets to the committee. One seat remains available.
