Strap on your spurs and cinch that blingy belt buckle, because the 27th Annual Los Fresnos PRCA Rodeo kicks off this Friday, Feb. 19. At the same time, area students will be showing everything from rabbits to bulls at the Cameron County Livestock Show and Fair.
The rodeo will feature professional bullfighters, bronc riders, calf ropers and barrel racers.
The first bullriders enter the rin at 8 p.m. on Friday, with more shows on Saturday and Sunday.
On Saturday evening, music fans will enjoy a concert with Aaron Watson, who will take the stage at 6 p.m.
The event features something for cowboys and cowgirls of all ages, as a Carnival by Heart of America Shows will offer rides, games and food for every palate.
For the livestock show, judging will take place day-long on Friday and Saturday. A Home Show opens at noon on Friday. Judging of market steers is scheduled to take place at 5 p.m. Friday, with the presenting of scholarships and awards for all livestock categories on Sunday at 1:30 p.m.
