The Laguna Madre Water District recognized former custodian Lupe Salinas by presenting a plaque in her honor to members of her family Tuesday. The plaque is located on the exterior of the District’s office, above several rose bushes crowned by several vibrant blooms.
Salinas, who died in December, faithfully worked at the District for 30 years before retiring in August of last year. General Manager Carlos Galvan described her as well loved among the District’s staff and board of directors. “She was a great asset to the district. … She got along with everybody,” he said.
