Port Isabel High’s Trey Mock had the fourth-best toss in the discus at last Friday’s Patriot Relays at Mission Veterans High School.

Mock’s best throw was 137-feet, 7-inches.  He made only three attempts and did not throw in the finals.

Teams from 21 schools competed at this meet and the discus field was loaded, as Tarpon head track and field coach Joe Gonzales explained. “There were so many kids throwing.  When Trey threw he was in the third flight (group), and I think there were 25, 30 in each flight.  He didn’t throw in the finals – he had to leave because he had a baseball game.  He went up there, took his three throws, and left.”
