The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 081-07-02 of Port Isabel will be hosting a boating safety class this Saturday at the Port Isabel Yacht Club.

Entitled  “About Boating Safely,” the class is open to anyone 13 years or older who is interested in boating. The class is a requirement for Texas boaters who were born on or after Sept. 1, 1993, according to Public Education Officer Dennis Patterson.

The class will be a full-day affair from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Learning materials will be provided and students will receive certificates from the U.S. Coast Guard and Texas Parks and Wildlife upon completion of the class. Though pre-registration is encouraged, onsite registration will be accommodated, as well. The fee is $50 per person. For more information, please call (956)279-6249.
