Freddy Cimermancic is a sophomore at Port Isabel High School and is concluding his third year as a member of the school’s instrumental music program. Last Thursday night he put on quite a show with a marimba solo at the 2016 Spring Concert. Cimermancic’s part of the evening’s entertainment came near the end of the concert. He performed a selection entitled, “Yellow After the Rain” by Mitchel Peters.
The marimba is what is known as a keyboard instrument. It features two rows of wooden “keys” sized and tuned to all the necessary pitches and played with two or more padded mallets.
