Tarpons Run Past the Hidalgo Pirates 34-7 last Friday, Sept. 9.

 

Congratulations to Coach Stumbaugh, Tarpon head football coach since 2001.  Friday’s victory is win number 118 of his career at Port Isabel. Coach Stumbaugh has lost only 62 games during the 16 years at Port Isabel and this is the best overall winning record of any PI coach since 1985. .  Nice victory, Coach.

Sidelined — Omar Silva, No. 7, top Tarpon running back, sat this one out again. Silva was still recovering from an ankle injury that he suffered during the Lopez game. The latest report is that he should return to the lineup against La Feria Friday night.

Several players who made a difference were:  Junior Travis Camacho, No. 21, with 11 carries for 130 yards on the ground and 2 TDs.
