The Port Isabel Tarpons won their third straight game to start the season as they blew the Hidalgo Pirates out of the water, 37-6, last Friday night at Tarpon Stadium.
The Tarpons got two touchdowns each from quarterback Cesar Aguilera and running back Travis Camacho and the team has now topped the 300-yard mark in rushing in all three games this season.
“We played a good game but we just need to do better in a couple of aspects,” offensive tackle Ian Torres said afterwards. “We’re coming around and we should be ready by district.”
“We told them the next guy’s got to step up,” head P.I. coach Monty Stumbaugh said afterwards.
