Both schools entered the game with 4-0 season records but the Port Isabel Tarpons outlasted the St. Joseph Bloodhounds 33-27 and remain undefeated at 5-0,
Canales Field was jam-packed as all seats were filled while others folks claimed their spaces standing and sitting around the fenced track.
Fans expected an exciting game from the two undefeated teams, each loaded with exceptional talent. The fans were not disappointed as both teams played well.
The mighty Tarpons were led by galloping Omar Silva who racked up 221 total yards rushing. This added to his previous performance of 441 against La Feria and 174 against the Lopez Lobos gives Omar a total of 836 yards for the season. His two touchdowns were runs of 75 and 57 yards respectively.
