Lady Tarpons Win, Take Zapata, Rio Hondo

The Port Isabel High Lady Tarpons volleyball team beat Rio Hondo on the road Tuesday night for their second straight win in district play.  They got their first league win last Saturday when they took the Zapata Hawks at home in straight sets.

Port Isabel completes the first half of their District 32-4A schedule with a 2-5 record.  The second half starts at Raymondville in a match that has been moved from Saturday to this Friday, Sept. 30.  Raymondville and Progreso, each at 6-1, are tied for the district lead coming into this weekend’s matches.

At Rio Hondo, Port Isabel won in five sets, 14-25, 25-22, 25-18, 21-25, 15-9.  The Lady Tarpons won in three sets last Saturday at home against Zapata, 25-17, 25-23, 25-17.
