The Port Isabel Lady Tarpons lost at Rio Hondo Monday night in the last district game of the season for both teams. The final score was 61-51 in favor of the Lady Bobcats.
It was close and competitive for most of the game. Rio Hondo led 10-8 at the start of the second quarter and the Lady Tarpons took a 24-22 lead into the break.
Neither team led by more than three in the third quarter and the score was tied three times. At the start of the last quarter P.I. was up by one point, 41-40.
In the fourth quarter, Port Isabel went out in front, 49-43, but Rio Hondo scored 11 straight to go up, 54-49, with two minutes to play.
