The outlook for the Port Isabel Lady Tarpon volleyball program is pretty good for 2018. The Press recently visited with Lady Tarpons head coach Julie Breedlove, and she talked about the current state of the program and the upcoming season.

“We’re going to have good senior leadership,” Breedlove said this week. “I think these girls are going to lead by example, and their hard work is going to help the younger girls come around.”

Some of the fall’s prospective varsity players will be involved in at least one summer league and summer camp activity is also a definite possibility.

“We’re hoping to get the girls into summer league, if Harlingen or San Benito will host a league this year,” Breedlove said.
