Tarpon Assistant Coach is World Traveler

It seems that most high school football coaches don’t do much world traveling.  One exception, maybe the only one on the Port Isabel High coaching staff, is Johnny Nieto.

Nieto is a life-long resident of Port Isabel and saw Varsity action in football all four years of his high school career before graduating in 2005.  He attended UT-Pan Am in Edinburg and graduated with a degree in Business Administration in Computer Information Systems.  He joined the coaching staff in the Port Isabel school system in 2013.  His main responsibilities are with the junior high football team and he also helps out with the high school Varsity squad.

This year, right after the end of the school year, Nieto took off for South America and then was off to Europe.
