The Port Isabel Lady Tarpons volleyball team played a road match Tuesday evening and lost in straight sets to the Brownsville Pace Lady Vikings.

Pace won by the scores of 14-25, 18-25, 6-25.

“The first game we struggled a little bit to find our way,” volleyball Head Coach Julie Breedlove said Wednesday.  “We had a couple of players that were playing out of their normal positions.  Our libero was missing so we had to fill in for that spot.”

“The second game we made some adjustments, so we ran a different libero in the second game,” she said.

“We were down 10-14 and made a pretty good run to close the gap to 16-17.  Then we let them get a little service run on us, so we ended up dropping that set, too.  Third set our serve/receive just wasn’t there and we couldn’t hang on,” Breedlove said.
