Port Isabel High sprinters were strong at last Friday’s invitational track and field meet at Tarpon Stadium.

Tarpon athletes took gold in the 4 x 200-meter relay and the 200-meter dash, were good for silver in the 100-meter dash and 4 x 100-meter relay, and took bronze medal honors in the 400-meter dash.

In field events, Tarpon thrower Angel Cacho took first place in the shot put with a personal record toss of 43-feet, 7.75-inches.

Senior Cesar Aguilera gave it everything he had and was second in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.57 seconds.
