The Veterans Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) is a state-of-the-art medical clinic on wheels that is available to assist local veterans searching for healthcare. The MMU has helped improve healthcare access for veterans who may have previously struggled to receive the care they need. The clinic can provide scheduled routine primary care, women’s health, limited mental health and audiology services. Most primary appointments at the mobile clinic are by appointment only, but occasional walk-ins are available. Those looking for care in Port Isabel can visit the mobile clinic that parks at the Port Isabel Event & Cultural Center every week on Mondays.

To be seen by medical staff, one must be a VA Texas Valley Coastal Bend Healthcare System enrolled veteran. Those not enrolled can visit the team onboard the MMU for assistance with enrollment or visit a local Veterans Service Officer for an enrollment application. Those filling out a new application must have a DD Form 214 to enroll.
