St. Andrew’s by the Sea in Port Isabel is gearing up for a festive treat as it prepares to host “Villages of Yturria,” a spectacular Christmas village display curated with enchanting miniatures collected by the dedicated Esther Cavazos. The indoor exhibit promises a magical experience for attendees of all ages, inviting guests to immerse themselves in the holiday spirit while indulging in hot spiced cider and cookies at every village.
Scheduled for Friday, December 15, from 5 — 7 p.m., and Saturday, December 16, from 2 — 4 p.m., the event is anticipated to be a delightful affair for the community.
Esther Cavazos, whose passion for collecting dates back to the 1960s, has generously provided her cherished Christmas villages for this special occasion.
Cavazos’ impressive collection, carefully sourced over the years from friends, family, and even schoolchildren, serves as a testament to her enduring love for the holiday season.
The display is a captivating compilation of her favorites, showcasing the intricate details of each piece, many of which were lovingly gifted by her brother-in-law. Originally split between family members, this unique collection has been reunited in its entirety for the church exhibition, boasting dozens of pieces that tell a heartwarming story of holiday tradition.
